22 oz bottle, via beastiefan2k. Pours a clear mahogany brown body with a fizzy light brown head that left lots of lacing. Just a little visible carbonation. The nose is chocolaty with a light roast and nutty coffee base. Smells a little husky though. Minimal hops on the nose. A dry, chalky, lightly roasted malt base with that husky note being more prominant here. Fades to an old scorched coffee finish with a touch of hops. Mouthfeel is thin and a little watery with moderate fizzy prickly carbonation. Overall, this really wasn’t a Porter, but I guess that Porter is as good as any category for this beer.

bomber purchased for $2.79. black, thin, with lightish large head. pretty carbonated. smells of cream cheese and chalk. some burnt malt and hops hidden in there. taste is pretty odd. kinda has belgian elements or something. by which i mean it almost tastes inappropriately infected. and that’s the overriding taste, this bad spoiled fruit flavor. there’s a bit of dark malt backbone, and the body actually works pretty well (light and thin, carbonated) with the infection. i see it’s a blend, maybe that’s why it seems so weird. anyways, it isn’t great.

22 oz. bottle. Pours a very deep and clear reddish brown with a moderate, uneven, cream colored head that lasted until about mid-glass. Pleasant aroma of lightly toasted malt and brown sugar. The flavor had notes of molasses and brown sugar, but without the sweetness, along with some lightly toasted malt. Mild bitterness at the finish with some light alcohol warmth.

slightly strange in the sweet but all ln all... good beer! it is a hybrid in a true sense, in so much as it holds the true flavors and qualities of both quite well. this beer has a good stoudt and ale taste and aroma in every swallow. the price is quite good. it is quality with discerning characterstics and honestly good body, flavor and character. very nice!

Mild oxidation and roast in the nose with some soft hop notes. Roasted with mild plum and raisin notes. Some acidity come thru at mid-palate. Thin and acidic finish.

Pours deep, dark brown with light head. Being a mix of Stout and IPA, I wouldn’t call this one a true porter. Nevertheless, this brew is excellent. You get the hoppiness of the IPA and the fullness of the Stout.

smells of dark malt though thin at that. filtered black and doesnt appear to be heavy at all in body. indeed. thin weak mouthfeel, good flavors of roasted grain and burnt crust. recedes fast with a sweet finish. more of a watery stout than a porter
