Sweet malty aroma. Black body with thin head, little lacing on the glass. Rich malty flavor. Beer was easy on the palate.

Bottle poured black with a good thick head and lacing that hangs in sheets on the glass. Malty roast aroma with a roasty, coffee flavor and finish. Reminds me of a weak stout.

Very dark, some light tints the edges. Light head. Nice aroma of roasted malt and alcohol. Initial tinge of alcohol on the tongue. Interesting combination of the roasted malt stout notes on a lighter beer. Might be what would happen if they tried to make a scotch ale.

Poured a medium brown color. Aroma had a light roast but more aroma traits of a pale ale than a stout. Light hops. Flavor starts like a pale ale with some citrus hop and caramel and finishes roasted with bitter sweet chocolate. Light to medium bodied.

A dark burnt garnet in colour with a medium creamy light-brown head dissipating to a sheet of lace. Aroma is lightly sweet coffee with floral and citrus hops. Flavour is toffee and caramel with acidic, bitter flavour and a lively medium bodied feel. It goes down with an acidic bitterness and obvious alcohol. I really like the balance in this beer. If you like the concept of mixing beers to get a different experience, try a Boont-Sail-Tail (Boont amber ale, full sail amber ale, red tale ale).

Pour is black with a nice size head. Aroma is hoppy and slightly malty. Flavor is chocolate and hops with a nice caramal aftertaste. Nothing here to do back flips for but its pretty tasty and satisfying. Only $2.38 for a 22oz is also a plus.

Bottled. Pours "porterish" black with a cream colored head. Aromas of chocolate and hops. Dark fruit notes in the flavor as well as chocolate caramel. Decent hoppy/ sweet finish. I really like this beer.

Poured black with red highlights with a small off-white head. Aroma has a roasted character with hops. Taste is of roasted malts from the stout, but with an obvious hop kick from the eye of the hawk. Decent palate. Overall, better than both beers.
