Bomber pours a very nice clear amber with tan head. The aroma is sweet molasses, some nuttiness, caramel, a bit of roasty malts mixing in, sweet dark fruity esters of dark grapes, cherries and plums. The taste is very similar to the nose with molasses and caramel sweetness mixing with dark fruity Concord grapes and ripe cherries. The roasty malts and nuttiness peak out from time to time. I also get mild hop bitterness and faint malt astringency showing up in the finish.

Bottle courtesy Ibrew2or3. Pours a clear dark amber brown with a large tan head that lasts leaving great lacing. Aroma of light roasted malt, caramel, and a hint of dark fruit. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium nouthfeel with a mild to moderate amount of bitterness. Very good.

Does this mean that I can rate the Black Hawk Stout and the Eye of the Hawk Ale?? Guess not...Anyway, pours a dark brown that allows some light through. The head is a finger or two thick creamy and tan. From smelling this I’d say its either not really a good beer to begin with or its been in the store a tad too long. A little of both? Smells sweet, bready, a little funky. The flavor is unimpressive, earthy, sweet, lightly waxy bitter feel. Eh

The color was dark red/black. The head was creamy, foamy, and light beige. The aroma was bread, yeast, sweet, and roast. The flavor was roasty, but uneventful. The palate was very carbonated. The finish was abrupt.

Bottle. It’s amazing how while these two blended together to actually taste much better then the two combinations seperately. This one is worth multiply tastings
