| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 18, 2009 Lovely, dark and deep. Pours a thick, dark brown with a beige head. Nose is coffee and roasted malts. Taste is more malts and coffee. I also got that "burnt" taste - which is a good taste, by the way. A filling beer that I enjoyed very much. puboflyons (622), New Hampshire, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 12, 2009 From the 12 fl. oz. bottle with no expiration date or lot code anywhere to be seen. The pour is black like molasses with a small tan head that breaks apart but never really goes away. The aroma is roasted malts and coffee grinds with a touch of hops in the background. The mouthfeel is bold and creamy. A burnt sensation in the taste and a subtle serving of dry hops. Very smooth and quite nice. WakeandBake (436), Greenville, Michigan, USA
