Aroma was dark malt, and maybe a hint of smoke. Same for the flavor, with a little chocolate thrown in. Not too bad. Ungstrup (15245), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 2, 2007 Bottled. A deep red beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of chocolate and roasted malt. The flavor is slightly acidic stemming from the roasted malt, but also sweet and with notes of malt, and a burnt edge. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 16/20 | Dec 29, 2006 An unsurprising stout, but does its job. Just enough bite to tell you it’s a stout. I like how stouts look to begin with, but this one’s black with cream head looks fantastic. buckybeer (666), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 28, 2006 Pours almost black with a small tan head. Aroma of light smoke, coffee, and malts. Pretty darn bitter. Hell yea! A big roasted malt flavor. Also a fair amount of smoke in the flavor. Not bad. talon1117 (622), Bellvue, Colorado, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 27, 2006 Black pour with a light tan, full, and pillowy/creamy head. Nose is all cocoa with lighter notes of dark chocolate and coffee roast. Dry is definately the emphasis with lots of coffee roast and dark chocolate with mild earthy hops and a moderate bitterness. Palate is medium, lively, and almost creamy. Finishes more bitter than sweet with plenty of roast; short and dry. Fairly well done non-nitro, "dry" stout. Drinkable, just not real appealing to stout lovers. after4ever (2766), Brier, Washington, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 25, 2006 12-oz. Pours opaque black with a thick, moussy, very bubble tan head. Plenty of sheets of clingy lace. Nutty, roasty, bready, chocolatey nose. Attack is fairly strong; medium body, low carb, but forward flavors. Coffee, chocolate, roast, nuts, a bit too much chalk for me. Virtually without a finish. Body gets a bit creamy-soft in spots. Nice stuff. hayduke (1654), Eureka, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 22, 2006 22 oz bottle. Pours very dark brown. Not quite black, but close. Head was quite small , Not a whole lot of lacing. Nose was burnt malts, coffee, and chocolate. Mouthfeel ordinary, and flavors mild for a stout. Finiish is dry and hoppy for a stout. Not sure what is being attempted here. Average at the best. moejuck (1165), Ohio, USA
