A bit thin in the mouth, it delivers that sweet roasted flavor along with the slightest hint of chocolate. I never would have labelled this as a dry stout, since that only comes across, and lightly so,in the finish. Not bad.

The taste is choclatey, but without much lasting body and an odd metallic finish (the same that I’ve tasted in old Guiness
bottles). ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA

Aroma is chocolate and coffee with roast. Fairly roasty with some acidity. Another average at best bird beer. DrBayern (1137), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 12, 2005 Dark brown/black with a tan head. Not as thick a mouthfeel as many stouts. Coffee and chocolate notes, little sweetness. Dry, bitter finish that lingers a little. A drinkable stout, although not as assertive as many. BeerRules (237), Houston, Texas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 11, 2005 Rich creamy aromas of molasses and sugar. Light brown head that faded away quickly on a black body that has ruby edges. Flavor is very roasty with hints of dark fruits, citrucy hops, and coffee. Roasty finish lingers on your tongue for a while. The mouthfeel on this one I think is superb, has a blast of spritzyness and then smooths itself out into a creamy consistency. This is a great beer. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 2, 2005 Jet black appearance with a coffee-like aroma. Somky malt apparent with a bit of cream rolling off the tounge. I have to say that I am impreesed with how this brewery can make such solid beers at such an affordable price.
