| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 25, 2005 Black beer color which is correct. Head died quickly. Mouthfeel is a little thin. Aroma is non existent. Little dry palate. Good roasty flavors though. I suppose this is a decent everyday stout considering it’s relatively low 5.2% ABV. tronraner (1918), Seymour, Tennessee, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Sep 11, 2005 Bottle. Pours dark reddish almost black with a disappearing tan head. The aroma is burnt toast and bitter chocolate. The flavor is quite roasty and toasty, with hints of weak coffee, cocoa, and ashes. The ashes are especially apparent in the finish, which is kind of dusty. My main complaint is the palate, which is thin and non-supportive of the potential robustness. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Sep 11, 2005 bottle. Pours a rich deep opaque red with some lighter shades faintly visible on the edges. It has a somewhat musty aroma and some faint burned chocolate notes. The flavor is pretty sweet at first, similar to a cola, then is followed by a dry, chalky finish. The mouthfeel is pretty light and fizzy, especially for a stout. This is drinkable, but by no means extraordinary. tennisjoel (948), Shakopee, Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 12/20 | Aug 20, 2005 Bottle: Full black color with a light head coating. Good lacing. This is a pretty good stout. Flavors aren’t overwhelming, notice coffee and nut flavors. A touch of chocolate. A good session beer. heemer77 (4304), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 19, 2005 From a 12 oz. bottle. Pours with a black body that has some rucy highlights at the edges. The head is light tan colored. The aroma is light bourbon, coffee and caramel. The taste has some roasted coffee and walnuts. There is also a hint of some slated peanuts shells. Could be a little more mild. fishonmyplane (125), Newington, Connecticut, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 1/5 | 10/20 | Jul 14, 2005 This beer is far too carbonated. In fact it’s more like a bottle of Coke than a stout. It has an enormous, fizzy head which dissipates fairly quickly. The flavor is alright, but a bit bland-probably a result of trying to be "refreshing". Not recommended. roder60 (1023), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 12, 2005 Poured from a bottle a nice jet black color with a decent amount of foamy tan head. Aroma is creamy and floral, with subtle sweet malts underneath. Flavor is very sweet, almost fruity, slightly watery, with a dry semi hoppy finish. Overall, I found it somewhat enjoyable, but the sweetness is a little too much for it. Juelze (905), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 5, 2005 Pours a dark brown color. Smells of milk chocolate. Tastes of chocolate, sweet malt, mild hop flavor. Almost milky in character this beer is pretty creamingly smooth. A bit thin in the finish but pretty good.
