Taste is rather bland but enjoyable with bitter roasted coffee. Aftertaste is long and eventually becomes wonderfully sweet chocolate taste. SDalkoholic (1198), Chula Vista, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 11, 2005 Opaque black color with small layer of film covering. Has a hot cocoa aroma that also could be described as coffee added with irish cream. Notice of coffee and a caffeine like sensation but thats probably the carbonation. Finally a decent offering from Medocino brewing co.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 5, 2005 Very dark brown with a loose fat tan head. Coffee, vanilla and a hint of cherry in the aroma. A bit thin in body. Nice flavors of coffee, cocoa, a little leather. Somewhat metallic finish. FoolishMortal (966), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 28, 2005 Opaque black with a dark tan, medium sized foamy head. Muted fruit esters, cocoa and a slight roast malt form the aromatics. Slightly sweet nose, quickly enveloped by coffee and roast malt flavors. A hint of smokiness wedges its way into this flavor profile near the end, particularly noticable in the finish. Mouthfeel is pretty light and smooth. ontario102 (794), Boise, Idaho, USA

More petrol was burned getting it here then the contents of the bottle, fer sure: Nice cookie dough and coffee aroma, some notes of dates and citrus; subdued roasty flavor, some charcoal, coffee and phenolic notes; a little thin and very smooth; it held up well, considering, and I would love to drink more, especially in a fresh state. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 22, 2005 Drank this straight from the bottle. Enjoyed the hoppiness of it, although it wasn’t as fruity as the ales I like so much. It’s more of a coffee-y bitter which is a nice change of pace. I definitely need to drink more stout. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 21, 2005 Bottle. Dark red brown with a small tan head that fades fast. Nose is roasted malt, coffee and a touch of piney hops. Taste is espresso coffee, roasted malt and vanilla. Dry finish. Reminds me of Guiness but it’s not quite as bitter. Thin-bodied for a stout. fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 18, 2005 12 oz bottle. Poured dark brown/black. The medium tan head disapated quickly. A little quicker than I would expect from a stout. Aromas were of caramel and dark fruit. Coffee came in after a few swallows. Flavors were very malty with some roastiness. Coffee and vanilla in there too. Pretty good.
