| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 11, 2005 Pours a thick, dark black with an ultra foamy, lasting root beer float head. Aroma is very clean with hints of nut and malt. Flavor is thin, without a lot of fanfare - too one-dimensional for a stout. Palate is equally thin - it doesn’t really live up to the "stout" name in this category. Leaves a hint of sweet cola taste towards the end. Overall, it’s the stout I’d buy if I weren’t particularly in the mood for the heaviness of an average stout. Decent, but nothing special. awaller05 (301), Sharon, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 3, 2005 Interesting beer as it isn’t quite as heavy as some stouts and it has a definate crisp dry character to it. Perhaps could be more alcohol involved in it. TChrome (1303), Bedford, Texas, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 27, 2005 Beer pours very dark brown with a dark tan colored head that is somewhat retained. The aroma is nice and has notes of roasted nuts, milk chocolate. The flavor is quite a bit of coffee and some serious roastiness. Seems kinda thin. Would be a good stout for when you are not looking for too thick of a beer. In the summertime maybe? Pretty tasty. Jonathan3584 (323), Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 26, 2005 Pours opaque black. Even when held up to the light, it’s hard to see the red in it. Smell is roast dominant with some coffee behind it. Flavor is very strongly roasted, with coffee and some notes of bitter chocolate. Finish is pleasantly bitter. A little thinner bodied than I’d have liked, but still pretty delicious. rudolf (1789), Buffalo, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 21, 2005 Inky, slighty salty nose w. hints of chocolate. A bit of funkiness in the flavor w a cherry/chocolately finish. Not quite what I was expecting but enjoyable. donrajin (233), Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Feb 15, 2005 This is what I like in a stout. I am not a Guiness fan due to it’s bitterness and to me this is exactly that. The good things about a Guiness without the harsh bitterness. A definate winner in my book. Has a beautiful black color with a slight, but quite enough of a cream head. Aroma was that of a nice roasted coffee. goldtwins (4086), Nesconset, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 13, 2005 Poured a dark brown color with a thin light tan head. Aroma of lightly roasted malt. Flavor starts with a thin roasted malt that turns quickly (too quickly for me) to a long bitter finish. Light to medium bodied. icarus (55), The Colony, Texas, USA
