| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 30, 2008 Very dark brown, with a thin head. The aroma is roasty, chocolatey with a hint of nuttiness. Somewhat thin and fizzy, but also with a lot of roast. A hint of hop at the end, but overall quite austere. drjay44 (805), Salida, Colorado, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 29, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours a thick tan short lived head, with some lacing, over an opaque brownish black body....nose of roasted malts with coffee, cocoa predominating....tastes of roasted malts, again coffee and bitter chocolate with minimal sweetness and lingering mild hop bitterness....mouth feel is light with fairly heavy carbonation. A dry stout it is, but a little light on the palate. harpsm (24), Maryland, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Oct 23, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Very light and dry mouthfeel. Complex roasty malt character up front, with very little in the way of hops. The flavor falls completely flat on the finish with virtually no aftertaste. Very easy to drink, but disappointing if you’re looking for big flavor or balanced hops. DrDavid (957), Johnson, Vermont, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 22, 2008 (Bottle). Malty aroma, chocolate notes. Black body, large creamy brown head. Flavor is smooth, chocolatey, roasty, and well-balanced. A high quality stout. Sparky27 (1608), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 9, 2008 Bottle. Pours an opaque black with one finger tan head and some splotchy lacing. Nose is roasted malt and burnt coffee. Taste is more roastiness, coffee, cocoa and a touch of bitter hops in the finish. Lighter mouth feel than I anticipated, which is unfortunate. Not great, but serviceable. mattwix (6), Arizona, USA does not count | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 6, 2008 A very standard, delicious stout! | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Oct 3, 2008 LIght brown head that is small sits atop a black body. Nose is booze, molasses, milk chocolate. Taste is metallic and weak with some roasted malt on the back end. Very weak and average taste that is not nearly as dry and roasty as I would like. Mouthfeel is crap. BMan1113VR (2913), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA

Pours very dark brown, and a light brown head that fizzes away. Aroma of soy, brown sugar, licorice, chocolate, alcohol and smoke. Taste is sweet and fruits, metallic and watery with a roasty finish. Watery mouthfeel with light bubbles.
