Hits the tongue a bit empty at first, and then opens up to deep dark coffee and roasty bitterness with a bit of dark chocolate. Hops come in crisp and a bit woodsy. Finishes slightly dry, and rasty bittterness lingers.

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 21, 2009 fizzy and slightly nutty, really thin and watery tho. At least it’s exceptionally refreshing. Decent session stout, but I’d rather more flavor. kwerikson (116), burlington, New Jersey, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 29, 2009 pours out thin but a little heavy with the color of really dark brown. it produced a head that was about a finger thick and a really dark beige or mocha colored head. the body is pretty dark with no light penetration that i can see. the aromas are chocolatley, sweet, burnt malts, dark ripe fruits, some hints of hops(but really faint). there is also some good coffee, caramel, and toffee. it produces some nice lacing and the head settled to a very thin beige cap. it is all most full bodied with a really crisp hop finish and a very silky feel across the mouth. i taste slight hop bitterness, milk chocolate, roasted malts and carmelized sugar. there is some slight nutmeg, chives, and a burnt wood kind of taste. it finishes with some of that burnt taste on my tongue and that is really the most i get in the aftertaste. but there is also some bitterness, and a little malty undertones in the finish. shawnm213 (973), South Bend, Indiana, USA

Aroma of cocoa, milk chocolate, cream. flavor is chocolate, sour milk, roasted malts. Pretty good and drinkable, but the sour milk taste to it wasn’t so great. hogan873 (334), Joliet, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 23, 2009 Nearly pitch black body with a very thin tan head. Light aroma with notes of coffee, licorice, and dark fruits. The palate is quite thin for a stout, but the brew is very smooth. Weak coffee flavor with some dark fruit accents. Finishes just slightly bitter. Not a bad beer, but somewhat weak for a stout. zdk (249), New York, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 20, 2009 Pours very black with a tan head that diminshes immediately and leaves little lace, if any, behind. The aroma contains the the typical chocolate, coffee, licorice, and dark fruits like dates really coming through in the nose. Rather light/thin bodied. Tastes mostly of roasted coffee. Some chocolate as well and it finishes with a light hop kick. Fairly decent, nothing stellar, but a decent stout nonetheless. Soonah (965), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 18, 2009 Poured dark brown with a decent off-white head and flecks of lacing. The aroma was chalky, roasted malt and weak chocolate. The flavor was again more chalk and roasted malts. Thin chocolate. A bit of light spice/hops as it warmed up. Thin and drinkable. Not bad, just not outstanding in any way. madmitch76 (645), , Essex, England
