Vegetable aroma with grass and citrus. Well balanced with a pleasant bitter bite. Not bad. Has an interesting agressiveness that doesn’t come together but is at least assertive. ontario102 (794), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 27, 2005 Simple brew, citrusy nose and not very smooth, quite apparent bitterness; somewhat sweet and watery; this was pretty good, though FoolishMortal (965), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 18, 2005 Straw colored, small white head. Muted hop aromatics with thin malt undertone. Cluster type slightly spicy bitterness dominates the flavor, some grainy malt notes underneath. Finish is slightly bitter. Mouthfeel is smooth and ends crisp. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 18, 2005 This bottled brew poured a large sized head of frothy fine to large sized white colored mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a carbonated transparent yet slightly hazy yellow orange colored body. Its aroma was mildly hoppy and its mouth feel was tingly with a strong hop content that is very typical of an American IPA but was missing the caramel of an APA. Its good hoppy flavor lasts well into its finish. beerguzzler (31), Louisiana, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 4, 2005 My favorite of the Mendocinos (thus far). Aroma is a little lacking. Appearance is just fine, but great hoppy flavor with a great bitter finish. I will buy this again. Did I say it had a great bitter finish and aftertaste? | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Apr 25, 2005 Bottled. Pours hazy pale orange with a foamy white head. Sour malt aroma greets you and then a citrus hop aroma lingers around pushing away the maltiness. Bitter hoppiness is huge near the front end and the malt is faintly evident as the taste fades. A fair amount of thin lacing clings to the glass. A tad fizzy and carbonated with a medium to light body and dry fininsh.
