Spicey hop flavors, grassy, fruity, faint toasted malt flavors also. Finish is dry. Good hop bite. Standard stuff. atpayne (615), Zionsville, Indiana, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Mar 13, 2004 This poured as a very clear pale straw colored beer. The aroma was nice but almost completely malty. Not what I was expecting from a pale ale. The same toasted malt aroma that was present came through in the flavor. It is more dominate than the hops in this beer. It was a nice tasting beer, but it doesn't seem to fit the style properly, so it looses some points from me. Alcoholist (570), Peoria, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 11, 2004 Golden color with a large frothy head. Aroma is hops and candy sweet malt. Opens sweet then progresses to a duet of cascade grapefruit and bitter hops. Finishes crisp, dry and bitter. Sven (229), Lancaster, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Mar 10, 2004 Intense, foamy, snow white head that does not disapate, it took three pours just to get the entire 12ozs. into my pint glass. Beautiful cloudy caramel colour. Mild grassy smell from the hops, and a slightly doughy presence from the yeast. Taste is a bit thin, nice hop bite on the backside. Mouthfeel is lacking. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 7, 2004 Nice light cloudy orange-yellow with impressive white head. Light hoppy aroma. Sharp citric hoppy flavor, but not too strong. Interesting blend of bittering for a very light-colored ale. mellows with time. Hangover (772), Atlanta, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Mar 6, 2004 Nice golden, carbonated appearance. Thick, rocky white head. Thats where the good news ends. Aroma is that of a pilsner with a bit more hoppiness. Damn. Thin, one dimensional taste. Some malts come through, along with a sour, medicinal finish. Nasty. How this is considered an APA is beyond me. I give it points for it's gorgeous appearance... excellent head retention and lace, but that's about it. If there was a Bud Malt Liquor, I imagine it would taste like this... run, don't walk, away from this crap. spkldhenlvr24 (466), Newburgh/Buffalo, New York, USA

| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Feb 29, 2004 Light straw-gold, slightly hazy, very large, chunky white head. Nose lightly hoppy, bit citric and grassy, a few malts, seems a bit soapy. Hops at the front, some orange/tangerine citric character. Malts are thin and bready. Is a bit off and sour, not a particularly strong beer but has a rather unpleasant grain alcohol burn at the end.
