Commercial Description:
Blue Heron Pale Ale is a delightful, medium bodied smooth ale, with a distinctive crisp mouth-feel and a fresh hoppy finish. It is brewed using premium two-row Pale malted barley, generous amounts of both Cluster bittering hops and Cascade finishing hops and our own special proprietary yeast strain. Blue Heron Pale Ale is "Bottle Conditioned."

Crystal golden body with a big ass rocky white head, how’s that for description? The aroma is truly thicker with malt than hops; actually the flavor is as well. Big notes of pine, very natural and earthy; what seems to me to be a portly English hopped finish, crisp, and DRY as the Sahara, not citric but rustic.

Misty yellow, light aroma of mostly hops. Starts out with a sweet malt character is of citrus and apple, finishes dry with a hops bite. Light bodied and balanced fairly well. A decent APA, refreshing for a warm day, but pretty much middle of the road.

Bottle. Pours slightly cloudy light amber with a creamy white head that lasts and lasts. Aroma is sweet malts, light hops, lemons and tart apple. Flavor is initially sweet, then has a weird slight vinegar taste along with the bitter hops. Astringent finish is too much. It's possible I had an old bottle that has begun to turn. Palate is creamy and smooth.

Subtle hoppiness. Not over-hopped like the traditional pale ales. Golden in color and due to the lower hop flavor, finishes crisp. I also noticed stuff floating in it but I'm not smart enough to figure out what the hell it is. GOOD BEER!

Aroma was a bit weak, not like other Blue Heron's I'd tasted. Also, the flavor was more grainy than I remember. Disappointing.

Not too pale ale with a frothy head and a light aroma. Well hopped flavour with a malty and dry finish. A nice dry ale.

golden yellow, cloudy, white head that leaves completely. a little sweet with peppery grapefruit and a very off bitterness. the legend? it wasn't flat, but something is weird... lots of variety in ratings on this brew.

Great hazy golden yellow color, with good head and excellent lacing. Flavors in this are all out of whack - it's all about hops (not necessarily good ones either) - malts are so thin and bland.
