Commercial Description:
Eye of the Hawk is an excellent, strong, rich bodied ale that is "Bottle Conditioned" to perfection. "Eye" is coppery reddish-amber in color and its unique taste is the result of a judicious mix of caramel and pale malted barley, balanced with Cluster, Cascade and Saaz hops. This gives the Eye its luxurious flavor, substantial mouth-feel and that slightly dry finish.

Bottle. Not very good for the category. I expected it to have more of a cross section flavor profile and all it had was the taste of a beer with less alcohol. Good for one taste only.

Bottle. Pours an orangish red color with a small off-white head. Aroma of light hops, caramel and dried fryit. Taste is lighty sweet from malt, light alcohol, and over ripe fruit. Has a dry mild hop finish.

22oz bottle from BevMo Mission Valley. Pours a rusty orange color with a minimal head but decent lacing. The nose is hoppy with, maybe, a twinge of citrus hidden. The flavor is harsh hops, Fight through that and a light caramel like maltiness comes through. The finish is smooth with slight bitterness

Bottle. Pours a rich copper color with a small head that disappears quickly and leaves a thin blanket over the top of the beer but no lacing. Aroma is that of caramel, malt and hops. The taste is very nice starts out sweet and moves quickly into a tangy bitter clean end. The flavors of malts and hops play wonderfully off of one another to create a good solid beer.

Nice copper clear hue with nice hoppy nose. Sweet light fruit followed by punchy malt and tangy hoppiness. The 8% abv is very well tucked behind the complex character of this crisp refreshing beer~

Sept. 2007 - Beer pours copper color, crystal clear with smallish head and no lacing. The aroma is earthy and sweet. The flavor is malty and sweet with earthy and tinny notes, but thin with an odd lagerish bitterness. Just really thin and underwhelming for a strong ale type beer.

Pretty good looking beer, nice medium pour with a lightly hoppy aroma. Flavor begins with a muted hop, but has some good molasses flavor in the finish. This is more of a refreshing beer with less taste than I’d prefer, but still good.

Pours an orange amber color with a healthy off white head. Has a sweet aroma that translates into the taste. Powerful caramel flavor up front, and finishes with a mild dry bitterness. I like this one, its a little different, interesting and pretty good.
