Commercial Description:
Eye of the Hawk is an excellent, strong, rich bodied ale that is "Bottle Conditioned" to perfection. "Eye" is coppery reddish-amber in color and its unique taste is the result of a judicious mix of caramel and pale malted barley, balanced with Cluster, Cascade and Saaz hops. This gives the Eye its luxurious flavor, substantial mouth-feel and that slightly dry finish.

Similar to Red Hawk, a bit lighter in color. Sweet malts with a touch of bitterness. Has a better balance than Red Hawk. A nice tart finish.

650ml bottle from Bevmo. Pours a nice copper color with an off-white head that quickly recedes to 1/8 inch. There is minimal lacing. The aroma was weak with cider and sweet malts. The flavor was similarly weak with grass, malts, barley and caramel. Hops were well integrated and barely noticeable. The mouthfeel was a bit thin and watery with mediocre carbonation. The finish was short and acrid with alcohol showing through, I also noticed a distinctly sweet aftertaste. Overall: This one needs work. Not recommended.

Hearty aroma of barley, roasted chestnuts, and salted meat. Unusually orange color with a thick, coating, yellow head. Extremely nutty, beginning to end, but it works well with the higher ABV. A touch of caramel, marshmallow, and french roast coffee adds more dimensions. Charred oak finish. Very good and one of a kind. It doesn’t strike me as the type of beer that pairs well with anything. Don’t try it with cheesecake, just so you know.

Decent beer. Flavor dominated by caramel malts and alcohol. Sweet finish. Lacking in hops to balance the flavor. Tastes like a strong octoberfest. Full bodied with low carbonation. Not the most drinkable or interesting beer.

(Bottle) Pours a light brown color. Aroma of dark malts and some hops. Astringent finish and low carbonation. Sweet caramel notes leave an unbalanced aftertaste. Alcohol is noticeable. Not a big fan of this beer.

Dark Amber color with a thin head. This was the flatest beer I have had in a ong time. i think this keg was off. Had some rich malts, light hops. Did I mention this was flat also. liefless with the lack of carbionation. I will try again one day.

Pours a deep copper with faint off-white head. Aroma is of malt sugar and sharp, pungent American hops. Has a strange tart taste with adequate bitterness. Finishes dryer than expected.

Bottled. Nice looking copper-colored beer with a decent head. There was something "different" about the flavor that I couldn’t quite place. It tasted okay but seemed to lack a little complexity where you would expect it.
