Commercial Description:
Eye of the Hawk is an excellent, strong, rich bodied ale that is "Bottle Conditioned" to perfection. "Eye" is coppery reddish-amber in color and its unique taste is the result of a judicious mix of caramel and pale malted barley, balanced with Cluster, Cascade and Saaz hops. This gives the Eye its luxurious flavor, substantial mouth-feel and that slightly dry finish.

Bottle: Georgeous color; a little sweet in the finish for my taste - the malts overwhelm the hops giving it a cloying sort of finish. Good, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to find it.

12 oz bottle from ’Naka. Pours a cloudy Amber. Small white head. Sweet aroma, bit of ctrus hops. Taste is suprisingly sweet, hint of oak and sweet chocolate/carmel, somewhere in that neighborhood. Crisp finish with a bit of hops, not over powering on that . No real alcohol flavor for being 8%, but the warmth is there. Pretty good.

Coppery color. Malty aroma. A little hoppiness in the nose. Full flavored but a little watery. Not very bitter. Has a lager like finish. Disjointed and unaware of its identity. Needs to seek beer counseling.

Copper color. Minimal hops, much less than I expected. Some sweet malt in the flavor.

Pours a hazy deep gold/fair amber with a tight white head that gerates solid lace for the first half of the glass. Faintly fruity, grassy and grainy aroma. Heavy mouthfeel, quite malty but the hop character is mostly vegetal with an unpleasant tinny finish. Okay.
