| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jul 1, 2007 Aroma is strong and very malty, inviting a taste. Pours a dark amber-brown with a thick, light tan head. Flavor is strong and rich, very malty but with some hoppiness and bitterness, a bit of a smoky hint. It leaves a tingle on the tongue and just a little bitterness. Definitely a superior ale. wingman333 (248), San Antonio, Texas, USA

Altogether not bad. joohefner (380), Isla Vista, California, USA

Flavor is more caramel malts with some butterscotch and alcohol. I did not get much of the hops. Still this is just an ok beer for sipping. moejuck (1172), Ohio, USA

| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | May 25, 2007 Slightly hazy light orange, minimal head. Smell is lightly malty with some citric and spicy hops notes but mostly metallic. Not pleasant. Flavor is strong alcohol, more metal, flaccid malt, phenols and rough hops. Finishes harsh and metallic. Not much to enjoy here. A mess. milewide (618), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA
