Commercial Description:
Eye of the Hawk is an excellent, strong, rich bodied ale that is "Bottle Conditioned" to perfection. "Eye" is coppery reddish-amber in color and its unique taste is the result of a judicious mix of caramel and pale malted barley, balanced with Cluster, Cascade and Saaz hops. This gives the Eye its luxurious flavor, substantial mouth-feel and that slightly dry finish.

This poured a clear amber with a yellowish head that pastes some lacing to the sides of the glass. The aroma is caramel with an herbs and mint spiciness. Pretty darned sweet but with a hidden abv, the flavor is a fruity caramel with an earthy bitterness that becomes eucalyptus in the finish. Okay.

Bottle. Pours a nice golden amber color with a slight head. Smells of caramel and light fruityness. Taste is quite a surprise, sweet fruit and a nice smoothness. Ends clean. Not bad.

Light amber in color. Foamy white head. Spicy sweet aroma. Quick heavy malty flavor that is quickly replaced by the hop bitterness finish. Alittle honey, caramel. and then that’s it. Probably better with food. Slight alcohol in the palate. We’ll call this the PDer.

Copperish red, with thin off-white head. Sweet malts, fruit and caramel nose and flavors. Great multi-hop flavor...with a tart kick. Very nice beer.

Sampled on tap at Spikes in San Luis Obispo.

Light brownish amber, a thin ring of lace, again with the biker pour, maybe I should shave my goatee and start wearing suits to bars...
Grainy, wheat, some interesting fusel alcohols, hops were too elusive for my nose to pick up.
Yeasty, banana-like esters, which mixed with the very prevalent alcoholic buzz, it’s almost like a pina colada. Some spicy hops in the tail end. This Beer is hard to pin down.

Bottle. Pours reddish amber color, very thin beige head. Aroma of sweet malt, caramel, and fruit. Flavor is almost just like the aroma, only with more hop character coming through.
