Has a fruity, malty aroma. Lots of caramel malt flavor. Slight alcohol finish. Medium body. Not bad. Thanks Scott linc33 (177), Albany, New York, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 1, 2006 On tap at Olde Saratoga Brewing Co. Pours amber-brown. Slight urine odor as with the last pint. Good balance of malt and hop, but very strong alcohol finish, almost like sipping vodka. Lost points due to that - if they straighten that out, it’ll be a much better brew. jde123 (715), Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 20, 2006 bottle, pours like a pouty child, weak and frothy. Appearance is like a rabid turtle, tinge of green with lots of clear fluid kind of amber, too. Smells like an apple with teeth. Flavor is real, someting tangible, yet not quite real, like lurking in a virtual environment full of 3D globes in your computer. Nuts nuts nuts. Somewhat of a fiesta in me boca. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 18, 2006 12oz bottle poured dark amber with a short offwhite head. Aromas of roasted malts, and caramel, and just a touch of grapefruit. Flavor is mostly of caramel malts, a touch of fruit though as notes of raisin come in before a short bitter grapefruit hop finish. Alcohol can be found at the finish. Medium bodied. O.k. but not a top American Strong by any means. SoLan (1427), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Jun 15, 2006 Clear amber/copper. Small, fizzy, off white head. Nose of toasty caramel malt, fruity yeast, and sublte alcohol. Flavor adds earth, lightly bitter hops. Medium/full, balanced body. Not much going on here. Easy drinking and 8%, a good beer to get your buzz on in a hurry, but that’s all. $7/sixer ain’t bad either. molassesfan (201), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA

Rerate-On Tap-Assateague Island Oasis. Beer poured @ the same but tasted much better-much fresher. Clean crisp hoppy flavor w/ a nice malt balanced finish. Some sweetness, some caramel/toffee. Good flavor, nothing spectacular. Must have had a bad bottle last time.
