| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 16, 2006 This one pours a deep amber color, crystal clear with minimal off-white head. Not much hop in the nose, just malty sweetness, a touch of fruit. Flavor is plumb, raisin, apricot, pepper and spices with an unpleasant aftertaste that hangs around a while. I think I may have got an old 6-pack, but I would expected it to age better at 8%. BrewKrew (29), bellevue, Kentucky, USA

Lots of carmel and malt flavors, a bit of strength in the alcohol on the palet wtih a color like candy..overall a delicious catch. Vatruvian (27), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA

I couldn’t get more than about a half inch of head out of it. Smell is somewhat yeasty but not unpleasant. Taste is very lightly hoppy and almost sweet. Mouthfeel is full and moderately rich. Very drinkable for an 8% ABV. Happy that I got last six pack on the shelf but I’ll be sure not to drink it all at once. i don’t see this as being a great session beer but it should be a good kick-start or even a night cap. Paid $4.99 for a sixpack. A good bang for the buck. zach8270 (2129), Henrietta, New York, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 7, 2006 (bottle - 12 oz) Cloudy copper color with not much of a head and very little carbonation. Aroma is sweet and nutty with some hints of caramel and apple juice. The flavor is very sweet and nutty at the start with a touch of hops as well. The middle is sweet and nutty and the end has a nice malt flavor. The alcohol is hidden well, but it packs a punch. mrchug645 (71), alb, New Mexico, USA
