| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 26, 2005 From a bottle - This one poured a reddish mahogany hue, with a malty aroma and a very thin, very rapidly fading head (is this a trademark of Mendicino Brewing Company brews?).
The flavor is very malty, with a big sweetness anda lasting palate. All in all, a fine beer. DrBayern (1137), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 14, 2005 12 oz. bottle. Pours a nice amber with an off white head. Malty sweet aroma, with faint hop notes. Malty, caramel flavors dominate a medium mouthfeel. Malty finish with very subtle hop bittering. fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 12, 2005 12 oz bottle. Very little head and no lacing. The aroma was very metallic. Luckily the flavor picked things up a bit. Sweet maltiness to start and a decent hop finish. Didn’t expect this to be an ASA. Not bad Nejhleader (929), Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Oct 8, 2005 well not too shabby. Reminds me of playing 16 player Halo tournaments for somereason. HA. any nice aroma. Smooth silky taste. Bit roasted. good hop mix. bit bitter aftertaste. not dry at all. DYCSoccer17 (2192), Davis, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 6, 2005 On tap at brewery in Saratoga Springs, NY. 16 oz. Aroma is a bit sweet with some diacetyl notes and metallic tones. Do I smell some Saaz in this as well? Transparent orangey-copper color with a yellowish head. I suppose this could be darker in color. Starts off sweet, caramelly and a bit metallic. Some toffee is present. Finish has some dry Saaz hops anda bit of bitterness. There is some booziness in the late middle. A bit dry, metallic, and boozy for me. Megan (101), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 5, 2005 Medium head when poured. Nice amber color (could be richer though). Hoppy taste but smooth. Dave says "it’s good" Ayumbomb (63), Asheville, North Carolina, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 25, 2005 This beer is kinda like buying tickets to a band that is not that great, and it’s completely unnecessary to buy front row seats to have a worthwhile time. You might just buy the nosebleed seats just because they’re cheap and you know the show will be just as crappy if you can’t see the fat ugly singer. This beer is shite, but I bought a 6-pack for 4.99. Considering it’s 8%, this is not too bad of a deal. I figure I can just sit back, close my eyes and try to enjoy the show the best I can. The price is right!
