Commercial Description:
Eye of the Hawk is an excellent, strong, rich bodied ale that is "Bottle Conditioned" to perfection. "Eye" is coppery reddish-amber in color and its unique taste is the result of a judicious mix of caramel and pale malted barley, balanced with Cluster, Cascade and Saaz hops. This gives the Eye its luxurious flavor, substantial mouth-feel and that slightly dry finish.

08.16.05 12oz bottle. Pours a dark, hazy amber with fizzy beige head that fades to nil. Aroma is sugary, honey, caramel, and oddly leafy. Citrus undertones mix on the palate with saaz and very spicy alcohol. Not at all well balanced but in keeping with most of their other beers it comes on strong at the end with an empty but very dry bittern kick. This one adds a lingering sweetness but there’s still a vacancy where there should be body, and malt, and lusciousness. Oh well.

Reddish brown color, quickly disappearing head. Sweet fruity flavor with hints of caramel. Very slight hint of hops present in the finish. A little too sweet for me, as I prefer more hops.

Amber color with a shy tan-colored foamy head, with toasty caramelized malt, cookie aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate, with crystal malt, earthy character, fruity, hoppy, hint of maltiness, leading to a flowery hop bittering finish.

Not what I expected, didn’t really read the label. Very strong, 8% alcohol, would not consider as a session, not the worst/

Effervescent and refreshing on the palate. The beer is an amber color with a thick bubbly head. The beer has a champagne characteristic in its appearance and flavor. Hints of fruit and sweetness.

Pours a hazy amber color. Smells of sweet malt and dark fruit. Taste is a bit sour with fruity bits here and there. Mostly the malt shines thru with the fruitiness (apricot?) and medium hoppiness. Slightly syrupy overall it’s a good beer but nothing to write home about.
