Commercial Description:
Eye of the Hawk is an excellent, strong, rich bodied ale that is "Bottle Conditioned" to perfection. "Eye" is coppery reddish-amber in color and its unique taste is the result of a judicious mix of caramel and pale malted barley, balanced with Cluster, Cascade and Saaz hops. This gives the Eye its luxurious flavor, substantial mouth-feel and that slightly dry finish.

From a 12 oz bottle purchased locally. Aroma is mildly sweet and a little earthy from the hops. Bright clear amber with a small tan head. Malty, toast bread with a little caramel sweetness. Evenly balanced with bitterness. Full bodied and finishes dry. I would not think this beer to be 8%. Well balanced and very drinkable.

Bottle. Pours a light hazy golf with a one finger creamy white head and ok lacing. Nose is light citrus hops and sweet malt. Taste is malt, honey and a very light hop finish with a touch of alcohol burn on the backend. Medium mouth feel. Pretty boring.

Didn’t really like the aftertaste. A tad too sweet. Not very strong for an IPA.

Hoppy and bitter, highly carbonated, aftertaste is slightly spicy. Some raisin?

12 oz bottle from variety pack. Haven’t seen this NY brew around before, so tried the variety pack. I went with the strong ale first... amber color, little to no head, smooth and strong. Not bad at all.
