Commercial Description:
Peregrine Golden Ale is light blonde in color, slightly hoppy and is characterized by a tint of a hint of hazelnuts in the finish. Peregrine Golden Ale is the lightest-bodied ale we brew and it is made with 100% Cascade Whole Hops - which gives it that delicate character that makes it a perfectly refreshing spring and summer ale.

Dull gold murky appearance – white head however, the head does not last long– nose is malts, slight bananas, grassy, caramel– medium body – initial taste is sweet then turns acidic, and malt- aftertaste is medium with a creamy, acidic and bitter chocolate

Golden blonde in color with a thin short lived head. The aroma was sweet with hints of fruit and peaches. The taste was very one dimensional with slight hints of lemon and citrus. Finished slightly bitter with some lemon peel to it. Good by the pool when its hot but thats about it.

(12 oz bottle: Hollingshead Deli in Orange, CA) Ack! I was expecting this might be "okay" for a golden ale, but this is every bit as awful as most of the beers in this category, maybe even below average, which is really saying a lot. Sweet, fruity, peachy, floral and lightly bitter, but also bready and plastic/artificial-tasting, something resembling plastic tablecloth toward the finish. This beer wouldn’t be so bad except that the aftertaste is just downright awful. In the nose, we have honey, peach air-freshener and the scent of that ugly plastic fruit in a bowl on your grandmother’s dining room buffet. Thin, watery body, average carbonation. Definitely a golden-colored beer, but thousands of large specks are suspended throughout the beer. Small, whitish head retreats to a thin ring, leaving no lacing behind. Wow, this is easily the worst Mendocino beer I’ve ever tasted. It’s even bad by Golden Ale standards! I’m not sure on the age of this bottle (I just bought this bottle 3 weeks ago), but I can’t believe Mendocino would brew a beer this bad, so I’ll try to locate another bottle and rerate in the future.

Bottle poured a clear gold with a small white head. Aromas of cereal, leman and a bit of grassiness. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of grain, and a touch of lemon with a crisp clean finish.

12oz. bottle. Golden color with medium sized particulates. Small white head. Fresh hop aromatics, lemongrass, some sweet malt. Grassy, floral hop flavors, muted maltiness. Some astringency and residual sweetness in the finish. Mouthfeel is light medium, fairly dry.

It’s gold, bit hazy. Smells of a few hops, light malts. Flavor bit sweet, some lemon, mild hoppy bite. Rather soapy and pasty.

Very light hop aroma with the flavor of a full bodied pale lager. Golden, like the style says but no head at all; nearly flat. Decent palate but little to enjoy. An ok session beer.

Bottled. Pours a light golden color. Aroma is grainy with a slight hint of chemicals. Malty with a bit of sweetness. Hint of hops and spice as well. Slightly sweet finish. Hints of a hefe as well.
