Commercial Description:
Red Tail Ale - The Legend is our flagship brand. It is brewed in the traditional "old world" manner, using premium two-row malted barley, hops and our own special proprietary yeast strain. It is an amber ale with a rich complex refreshing flavor and a crisp dry finish. Red Tail Ale is "Bottle Conditioned." Like good wine, Red Tail Ale is a perfect complement to fine dining.

Deep amber pour with a very thin off-white head. Light, sweet aroma of biscuits and caramel. Medium-thin palate with some fizzy carbonation. Fairly sweet flavor of biscuits and honey. There is a decent hop bite towards the end. This is an okay brew but not very exciting.

Serving: 12 oz. bottle. Appearance: Clear amber color with a small, foamy,off-white head. Poor head retention and minor specks of lacing left behind. Aroma: Malty nose with biscuit and cracker notes. Very light. Flavor: Caramel malt, biscuit notes, and a light back bitterness. Kind of lacks flavor in my mind. Palate: Medium carbonation with a medium, slightly dry mouthfeel and a medium finish. Overall: This one really didn’t impress me.

Deep coppery amber with little head. Very low carbonation - maybe a problem wtih the six pack I bought? Nice aroma dominated by malt. Sweet flavor, not much in the finsih. With the low level of carbonation, not great in the palat dept. OK but not great - I may try again to see if this sample was flat or something.

Had this bottle at a restaurant. Pours cloudy amber with a decent size head. Aroma of caramel malt. There is actually a fair amount of hops used to balance the malt, and I thought it was a decent amber.

Awkward mouth feel, alright taste, ugly pour. Would expect more from a brewer in Hopland.

Tap @ Our House, Allston, MA. Amber body with white head. Nice body with a sweet, honey like malt flavor. Hops balance out the beer. Solid.

12oz bottle. Amber color. Nice tall white head. Nice lace. Aroma of pale and caramel malts. Aroma of fresh biscuits. Some light hop florals. Flavor is a nice cara malt. More biscuit. Smooth and creamy texture. A lot better than I thought it’d be. A decent hop bitterness finish. Simple and basic which makes for a really good Amber.

Appears as hazy orange. Finger of rocky head. Lots of carbonation. Nice amber light comes through. Some spotty lace. The aroma is a weak amber malt. Not much there, although not bad or anything like that. It’s just a bit underwhelming. Has a slight sweetness with a deep inhale. Taste is a dry biscuity malt in a bitter amber/red way. Has a wet flowery flavor. The hops are sweet and mild. It’s a nice balance. Feels wet and creamy. Thick like an English ale. Smoothens out as it warms up. Overall, not bad. Bitter but with a flowery sweet base. A very mild red ale.
