Metallic and grainy malt aroma with a touch of herbal hops, some yeast, and a hint of alcohol. light bodied with a low, soft carbonation. Toasty, grainy malts with some caramel sweetness and light bitterness in the finish, but low hop flavor. A little metallic edge in the finish. Not many redeeming qualities, I’m afraid. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | May 17, 2008 Clear orange brown body with a thin white head that evaporates into a small smear... more malty than hoppy; a bit like a brown ale, and yet fruity? Easy drinking, slightly effervescent... body is medium to full, slightly crunchy but pleasant... despite the malty aroma, the flavor is hoppy to the tongue with a balanced malt finish--a surprise in its roundness.. not overwhelming, but as a six-packer, this could be quite enjoyable--probably solid with grill fair or snacks. chrisafari (100), Orange, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 13, 2008 Pours a rich orange amber with a thin white head. Sweet aroma of grapefruit and citrus. The mouth-feel is quick and fading on the palate. There isn’t much here to really go crazy about. Tastes like the beer I used to drink: bland and tasteless. Aquilo (283), California, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | May 8, 2008 This one has a nice cloudy amber color, but the head looks disgusting. All bubbles, and hardly any foam. Aroma is faint. Fruity like dried apples. Taste is bland, but at least it’s not watery. I can taste hops and spiced apples. Tickles the tounge on the way down. Nothing special. elcaballo (101), Beverly Hills, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 5, 2008 A drinkable beer to be sure with a bit more of a bitter finish than you typically get with a typical amber. Otherwise kind of bland and eh. harpsm (24), Maryland, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 5, 2008 Plenty of caramel maltiness up front and a stiff bitterness (despite little hop aroma) on the finish. The most interesting aspect of this beer is the Belgian-like esteriness that I suspect is due to the proprietary yeast strain. It adds an interesting twist to an otherwise fairly ordinary amber. billteeth (3), USA does not count | 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | May 3, 2008 One of my all time favorites. If you like Heiniken, but want to get into a darker beer. This is the one. CaptBier (303), Birmingham, Alabama, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | May 1, 2008 Bottle. Pours light amber with medium off white head. Aroma is good balance of hops, orange and malt. After the aroma, the taste is a let down. Overly malted and unbalanced. Harsh on the tongue.
