Commercial Description:
Red Tail Ale - The Legend is our flagship brand. It is brewed in the traditional "old world" manner, using premium two-row malted barley, hops and our own special proprietary yeast strain. It is an amber ale with a rich complex refreshing flavor and a crisp dry finish. Red Tail Ale is "Bottle Conditioned." Like good wine, Red Tail Ale is a perfect complement to fine dining.

Bottle. 12/27/07. Aroma of spicy hops with some spiciness and malt notes apparent as well. Amber/orange. Slightly hazy. Off-white head with decent retention and lacing. Malt in forefront with medium crystal malt caramel flavors and some juicy melanoidin notes in the background. Well-balanced by a spicy hop flavor and moderate hop bitterness. Medium-bodied with good carbonation level.

Pours a cloudy brown/red color with a thin white head that disappears almost completely after a couple of sips. My glass had some particulates floating in it. Faint smells of hops. Does not have a very strong smell. Tastes of a good amount of hops with some fruit. Maybe apples, grapes almost. Tasty nonetheless. Very well carbonated, not thick at all. I drank this beer all night at a wedding in Oakland once and I woke up with a very bad headache. Reminiscent of the type of hangover and the nasty hop taste in your mouth that you get when you drink to much Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.

Pours a nice slightly hazy amber, nice floral scent, obvious malt flavor with nice fruity notes. Unfortunately, poured a weak somewhat off white head. Medium carbonation that is fine for this beer. Not a bad beer.

12 ounce bottle. Great label. Nice aroma with a hint of molasses. Full, fresh flavor that is both robust and smooth. Taste of malt, hops, grains, and . . . a little peat? Something unusual. Well-rounded with no rough edges. I really enjoyed this, and I would bet dollars to dimes that most beer drinkers would enjoy a couple of these.

pours a nice cloudy amber orange with a thin creamy off white head. aroma is caramel malt with a citrus, grape, apple hop aroma. has a medium body with good lacing and carbonation. flavor is the same as aroma but stronger. is a touch thin but there is a little bubbly action in the back of the throat. there is also a nice dry hop aftertaste. not to bad of an amber. there is also some pine that creeps up in the aftertaste. kind of a cross between an esb and an amber. i would by more for a light night of drinking.
