It is amber with a decent off-white head that dissipates to a thin ring. The aroma is yeasty bread & a hint of wine. The taste is mostly earthy, caramel malt and sweetness with a good body, fairly full palate, with light hop flavour and bitterness. It’s smooth and mellow, easy to drink, and rather like an English bitter. thegreenrooster (1839), St.louis, Missouri, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 23, 2007 Pour is a red with a small white head. Aroma has plenty of hops with some caramel malts. Flavor is not as good. Some earthy malts with a caramel malt backbone. Nothing really great but decent for the brewer. shakespeare33 (120), san diego, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 22, 2007 12oz bottle from 10 pack world market sampler... very light color for an amber ale.. white head... simple aroma, hints roasted hops but nothing overpowering.. very smooth well balanced initial hit, a small degree of piney, toasty hoppiness at the tail end but no bite or aftertaste.. the bark is bigger than the bite but not a bad little brew.... obguthr (1041), Poquoson, Virginia, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Nov 16, 2007 Cashew, walnut, and pineapple aroma, a touch yeasty. Slightly cloudy ochre color, thin yellow head, nice laing. Nutty vanilla flavor, not sweet, with definite bark notes. A rather rusty brew. Subdued grapefuit peel finish. Although this is not a great offering, I really like this brewer. wcampbell (577), Central, South Carolina, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Nov 15, 2007 I liked this one better than their other beers. Strong flavor, much hoppier than I expected. More bitterness than their IPA. It could have used a little more malt balance, but the flavor was good. Light bodied and well carbonated. robforbes (1099), Bremerton, Washington, USA
