Commercial Description:
Red Tail Ale - The Legend is our flagship brand. It is brewed in the traditional "old world" manner, using premium two-row malted barley, hops and our own special proprietary yeast strain. It is an amber ale with a rich complex refreshing flavor and a crisp dry finish. Red Tail Ale is "Bottle Conditioned." Like good wine, Red Tail Ale is a perfect complement to fine dining.

Sample at FCBF - Indistinguishable ale with a bright hop flavor. It’s fine but unremarkable.

On tap in NYC. Robust malt flavor with a big hop content. My mouth was filled and well coated. The flavor was long lasting. It left a big mouth feel and a lingering hop aftertaste. Nice

Thanks <a href = "http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?UserID= Had this one bottled in North Aurora, Illinois. Mine said "Brewed and Bottled by Mendocino --- Saratoga Springs, NY". A bit cloudy rusty red pour with a thin, white head, lots of citrusy hops throughout with some fruitiness. Pretty good.

Bottle. Pours hazy reddish-amber with small off-white head. Aroma is light lemon and orange peel hops with lots of apple and pear scents. Flavor is plain and straightforward - just some caramel malt flavors and a bit of fruity hops. Finish is dry, bitter and floral. My go to amber.

Cloudy amber with good head / No much in nose / Medium body with dry finish / Toasty flavors of burnt sugar with a hint of orange peel.

At first, this beer seems like it has the qualities of a good California Ale. Decent colour, hoppy nose, good taste. The caramel hops quickly destroy that with a warm, sticky and mealy mouthfeel and a lingering, awful tasting aftertaste.

12 oz. courtesy ’Naka. Pours light amber with a white head that is slow to disapate. Sweet malt nose with bit of floral. Malt and hop mix. Very flowery sweet taste with a crisp hop finish. Not bad, pretty down the middle Ale. Wouldn’t mind a few on a hot summer day on the deck, but there are other I’d choose first.

Amber in color. Malty nose. Some caramel malt is present in the flavor, along with a hint of pine. Dry finish.
