Commercial Description:
Red Tail Ale - The Legend is our flagship brand. It is brewed in the traditional "old world" manner, using premium two-row malted barley, hops and our own special proprietary yeast strain. It is an amber ale with a rich complex refreshing flavor and a crisp dry finish. Red Tail Ale is "Bottle Conditioned." Like good wine, Red Tail Ale is a perfect complement to fine dining.

[Bottled at East End Brewery, Quarry Bay, Hong Kong] Hazy reddish amber, brief head. Aroma and flavour of roasty malt and grapefruity hops. Medium sweet with clean mouthfeel and obvious aromatic, roasty crystal malt character. Aromatic peachy finish with medium bitterness. Simplistic and ultra-American, but pretty good.

Nice aroma, but simple, caramel with some hops/nuttiness. Pour is amber, no head. Taste is nice, kind of dry though, hits bitter, but rather simple. A bit overcarbonated. Overall, not good, not bad. The mendocinos I’ve tried have never been bad, but never all that strong in flavor.

Pours a beautiful amber into the glass.Hop nose with a hint of citrus. Clean hop taste with hints of malt and yeast. Refreshing. Would go good with spicier foods I bet!

Poured from bottle. Aroma of wheat, barley, some hops. Flavor kinda like a junior IPA with hops smoothed out somewhat by the malt, but not too much. Vanilla and bread notes as well. Finished nicely. Overall a clean, flavorful ale.

Mendocino Restaurant, Georgetown. A relationship? Probably not. Full tasting, but not really the best for the amber style.

12 oz bottle. Pours crystal clear red gold with thin light tan head dissipating quickly to a ring. Very nice hop aroma with some sweetness to it. Good hop bitterness a little overpowering of the light malty flavor finishing dry crisp and hoppy. Good average body, not too thin. A nice amber/bitter.

12 oz bottle-pours a nice amber color w/a moderate tan head. Nice aroma. Dry hoppy metalic taste. Hits you hard on the first sip, mellows out some as you drink it. Very average. Long dry metalic finish.
