Lacing is thick and persistant. Aroma of lightly toasted grains, slight sweet apple, and vinegar notes as well. Not much hop content. Flavor was more bitter than I expected, pale plain and not too exciting. Moderate feel and lively carbonation. Decent hop bite at the end. biggcb (464), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 2, 2006 Bottle. Overall, this is a rather uneventful beverage. Not bad, just nothing exciting is offered. Amber color. Some hops and yeast and malts in aroma. Some also in flavor. Papsoe (15103), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Apr 15, 2006 (Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a beautiful, clear amber with a creamy, off-white head leaving a neat lacework. Vaguely hoppy nose. Medium body with some with sweetish, caramelish malt. Dry, hoppy finish - but also in this Mendocino I really could use some more refinement in the hopping. It’s a bit raw. 270306 wnhay (722), Princeton, New Jersey, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 14, 2006 Poured amber with a foamy tan head. The taste and aroma are just funky in my opinion. Caramel is the good quality behind them both with a bit of a fruitiness. Overall pretty descent but I would have thought that this was a Pale Ale. decaturstevo (2007), decatur, Tennessee, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 3, 2006 Agolden orange slightly hazy look. Pours with a slight head and an even lace down the first glass. Taste and aroma are both a sweet malty fruityness with a tad of caramel. It has an odd kind of bitter that though not bad is a bit different. A decent ale that isn’t hard to drink. KSS (102), Plymouth, Minnesota, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Mar 30, 2006 Bottle. Second Medicino Brewery variety I have tried. I don’t think these guys have anything special to offer. The taste can only be described as ’"off". Verdict: Don’t try Mendicino unless you just want to notch another rating. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 28, 2006 In scoping all of these Mendocino beers I’ve noticed one invariable trait that I applaud: relatively high abv. This is an amber ale? I guess the line between amber ale and pale can be blurred from time to time. A little light in body for an amber ale. Fairly well hopped and somewhat caramelly sweet. Mostly caramel in the aroma but lacking overall. Coper in color and fairly translucent for being bottle conditioned. I’d say this is pretty good. This beer is a little above average but there are no flaws that I can see. MoreHead (355), Minnetonka, Minnesota, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Mar 22, 2006 full bubbly white head on an almost clear copper amber body with visible carbonation and decent lacing. sweet hay to the nose and a taste that starts caramel and ends with slight hops. finish lingers for awhile, not overpowering but certainly not quite right.
