Aroma of sweet caramel, toffee, and floral hops. Taste is sweet, simple, and malty. A few bready and toasted malt notes, but not enough to keep this beer very interesting. The finish is a little hoppy, but it is not very dry. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with light carbonation. Very simple and unexciting. slang (406), Columbia, South Carolina, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 9, 2006 Hopy aroma. Taste is somewhat weak but does have that slight citrus taste. Not bad, slightly better than average. jde123 (715), Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 9, 2006 A bland offering from an overall bland brewery. Pours from the bottle into a light orange bubbly froth, that while drinkable lacks an efervescence that really makes one want to truly imbibe the beer. Rather, I drank it too fast, and ordered another because I didn’t want to hassel the server into finding another obscure beer at the bottom of the cellar. Not great, but when mucking about in mediocrity, do as the mediocritites do... jcwattsrugger (5567), Florida and, New Jersey, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 5, 2006 12oz bottle-amber color, pours a rich, short light tan head. Aroma is deep malt-caramel. Taste follows with a bit of bite from the secondary hops, very nice, enjoyable. Good carbonation. Tmoney99 (4779), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 3, 2006 Bottle. Poured a deep amber with a large frothy white head that was lasting and produced good lacing. Good well balanced aroma. Medium body. Moderate balanced malt and hop flavor with an average bitter finish. ElBorracho (472), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 3, 2006 Bottle. Pours an orange/amber with a thin off-white head. A very faint malty aroma leads the way to a sweet candy malt taste. Not bad, but nothing I need to run back to. kfarrnd (112), Oldsmar, Florida, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 30, 2005 Bottle. Poured a light brownish copper with a thin orangy-tan head. The aroma was filled with caramel and sweet malt. The flavor was initially sweet candied fruit and caramel rounded out with some malt and then a bitter, even a little metallic, hops finish. Medium bodied on the palate, complex enough to merit drinking again. Not a bad amber at all, I continue to like the Mendocino offerings. bkurtz (276), Peru
