No hops flavor or aroma. A nice small malty flavor with a light aroma of malt also. This is your common lawnmower beer. Nejhleader (930), Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, USA

Well you could kinda smell the caramel in this. It was much stronger in the taste. Pretty dry. Not all that bad i suppose. beerbuff (9), Charleston, South Carolina, USA does not count | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 26, 2005 A classic hoppy pale ale. Broke clean initially and was pleasant with spicy food. Bored my palate after 1/2 bottle, but that could also be a result of the spicy food! turbo (1254), Arizona, USA

Light amber color with a thin head that continues to float on the top of the beer. Heavy malt aroma and flavor; the hops are an afterthought. Very full bodied as far as amber ales go, with considerable malty sweetness. Fish (439), Kure, Japan

The amber ales I’ve had in the past have all been pretty bland. Not so, red tail ale. Cornfield (4954), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 7, 2005 This pours a deep amber body with a continual stream of carbonation that constantly refreshes its chunky, creamy beige head. Great lacing. The aroma is caramel with light fruits and an appreciable amount of earthy hopping. Thick and creamy, the caramel dominates the flavor coupled with juicy plums, some peppery spicing, and solid herbal/earthy hops. The finish is dry and leaves a peppery feeling on the tongue. Very good.
