Commercial Description:
Red Tail Ale - The Legend is our flagship brand. It is brewed in the traditional "old world" manner, using premium two-row malted barley, hops and our own special proprietary yeast strain. It is an amber ale with a rich complex refreshing flavor and a crisp dry finish. Red Tail Ale is "Bottle Conditioned." Like good wine, Red Tail Ale is a perfect complement to fine dining.

Nice appearance — reddish gold with a small white head. But very little impression made by the beer ... average mouth, lightly hopped, no real sense of malt or floral hops or complexity of any kind.

Cool bottle. Poured a murky copper with almost no head. Clover aroma and flavor. Nice bitter aftertaste and pleasant mouth feel. Middle of the road all the way around.

Fruity Californian amber ale. Poured the colour of redwood with a decent head. The nose has lots of fruit, with traces of caramel and some winey notes. Big fruity hop flavours at the front of the mouth, fading to a gentle dry finish. Firm-bodied. Some lingering malt. Fair drinking but not particularly distinctive. (Bottle)

Gold w. no head (maybe my glass wasn’t clean?) Fruity nose w. some sweetish malt. Pear and general fruitiness with a sourish malt backbone. Sweet herbal finish.

This was an appealing brew that was a bit better as it warmed up. It was rich and complex, yes, tasting of barley and hops with a crisp, yes, dry, but a bit-too-bitter finish.

I probably wouldn’t buy this beer again. It wasn’t bad--bitter hoppiness with a dark malt finish. Just wasn’t all that appealing to me. Not much of an aftertaste, really--just kinda boring.

Still, coppery red. Pleasant holiday-reminiscent aroma with caramel, spice, cinnamon. Sweet on the attack, bit light-bodied, little too watery in the mouth. Cinnamon all over the sweet finish. Interesting but not enough on the palate.

Light Auburn in color with minimal head and some sediment...surprisingly. Medium malt profile here, nothing to get excited about, but the spicy hops here work very well, blending with the malt seamlessly. The finish is smooth, but a touch bitter toward the end as the yeast works its way into your sipping. Not a real hot beer, but tasty with a little something to perk up the taste buds a bit.
