Ron (1000), Rochester, New York, USA Oct 31, 2008 One bottle. Poured a decent white head. Aroma of coriander, wheat and lemon. Medium body. Flavor of wheat, lemon and sweet malt and some spice. DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA Aug 18, 2008 03-Feb-08 (12 oz bottle: BevMo in La Jolla, CA) Slightly hazy and bright golden in color, the quarter-inch-tall white head is kept alive by dozens of streams of tightly packed bubbles making their way to the surface. Wheaty nose seems sweet and honey-like, with a floral hoppiness coming out as well. Big, wheat taste is balanced by floral hops, but the honey sweetness is terribly prominent. Bitterness is light-medium, but seems stronger because the wheat is an easy push-over. Medium in body and well-carbonated, but the sweetness of the beer along with the floral nature of the hops leaves a heavy and stale feeling on the palate and a bad aftertaste. Plenty of flavor here, which is a big plus for an American-style wheat beer, but the hop profile isn’t especially enjoyable. brokephibroke (137), Mead, Colorado, USA Jul 16, 2008 Updated: Oct 5, 2008Bottle from the Fresno Marriott fridge, go Dogs! Cloudy orange gold pour with minimal white froth. If the target was minimal taste and aroma with a nice finish - they hit it! Not for me. rocbyter (902), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA Jul 1, 2008 Light coriander and strong wheat aroma. Cloudy yellow color with a small white head. Wheat beginning with a citrus middle getting tangier in the finish. Skyview (4006), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA May 31, 2008 Picked up a single 12-oz bottle at John’s Marketplace in Portland, Oregon. Pours a semi-hazy straw blonde brew with a thin white head that quickly dissipates to a thin ring. Aroma of crystal grain malt with wheat, some lemon zest, flowery hops and a touch of coriander. Taste is medium bodied, lightly carbonated with flavors of wheat malt, coriander a touch of black pepper and some citrus zest. Finish has a mild spice and bitter aftertaste that slowly disappears. For a year-old bottle of wheat ale, this hold up pretty good. 17thfloor (1402), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 9, 2008 Pours cloudy straw colored with large carb. bubbles and a frothy white head. Pungent wheat, coriander and black pepper aroma, also lemon zest. Very crisp soda like body/carbonation. Somewhat chalky wheat flavor with lots of lemon/citrus and some coriander. Spicy black pepper finish, sweet aftertaste. The description here says "malted wheat" the bottle says "unmalted wheat" from the consistency and flavor I’d go with what the bottle says... A pretty good Belgian Wit... this shouldn’t be listed as a wheat ale... tnkw01 (124), USA Mar 27, 2008 Bottle. It was a good wheat beer. Slightly spicy and sweet but not over powering. Worth a six pack try. bsierra (213), Vista, California, USA Mar 20, 2008 bottles from summer ’07 this is a light yet very drinkable ale with whispy hops flowing earthy malts and a nice refreshing finish, will look forward to ’08s edition~
