Lightly sweet aroma with some fruit and hops. The flavor has the same, but both qualities are more intense and the hops are more prominent. Well balanced, and the alcohol is well hidden.

22 oz in Ball quart. Slightly hazy red-brown with 4 finger, dissipating head. Aroma is caramel-lemon cough drop. Taste is initiallly rich and malty with some brown sugar, and promises more complexity, but turns to a thin fire-water alcohol with candi sugar. Rough alcohol in the aftertaste; might be an OK warmer.

Pours a dark burnt mahogeny with a nice off white tannish head. Nice slightly hoppy and toffee nose with a great balance. Nice flavor with toffee, but the flavor is a little bland.

22 oz. bottle, poured brown and mucky with small white head. Aroma of sweet toffee. dried cherries and table sugar. Starts malty and big with some more sweet fruit and bold malt backbone. Balanced toward the end with a slight peppery citrus bitterness.

Pours out a hazy ruby brown (from bomber). Aroma of malts, caramel, sugars with a slight hint of figs with hops at the end. Flavor is of toffee malts and hops. Alcohol is somewhat harsh, but drinkable. I’ll drink this 22 oz’er, and stick with DRH, Wheybacher, and Sierra Nevada for my BW beers.

This deep amber brew has a big sweet toffee malt palate, undercut by a hefty herbal hop bite. The ABV is potent and not too shy about slapping you around. I found it somewhat harsh, unsophisticated, and fairly simplistic.
