Harsh, but it’s grown on me. Smooth for its strength (11%). Had on draught at the Saratoga Brewery. Good for getting done in quickly. Goes well with Eye of the Hawk

deep dark rosy red. limited head. clear. fiercely aromatic. hard fruit candy aroma. smells like syrup. tastes awful. thin but metallic. starts well, huge malts dominating, but then it’s just so thin and miserable off tastes.

22 oz bottle. Great label. Poured a rich ruby red wtih a small tan head. Aroma of malts and alcohol. Palate is rich and clean. Flavor is slightly bitter. Very hopy finish for a Barley Wine. Another case of a brew that may not be really accuate for its alleged type, but is actually quite enjoyable to drink.

Dark amber, no head. Strong taste, slight sweet malt taste, lingering after-taste. Alcohol in taste and aroma, no a welcome flavor.

Semi murky caramel colored, short lived half finger head. Aroma is caramel , sweet malt, wood with a burnt end to it. Flavor is bitter sweet caramel, molasses, malt, wood with a semi bitter hop finish. The ABV is evident. Good for a try but not a repeat.
