Bottled. Dark amber coloured. Lots of caramel in the aroma with notes of dark fruits. Sweet and fruity flavour with notes of toffee. Medium to full bodied. Some hoppy dry- and bitterness in the finish.

The aroma is a wee bit dusty, with caramel malt, alcohol, raisins, prunes, molasses, and leaves. The appearance is red brown with a small head. The flavor is nice with all the elements from the aroma and a little bit of wood. The palate is typical for the style and the warming alcohol and sweet malt in the finish make this a great aperitif or desert beer. Overall this is a nice barley wine with everything the style is supposed to have.

Bottle. First and foremost, I am generally not a fan of barley wine, so that says a lot of my rating. Poured amber with a light brown head. Lacing was good. Taste was of sweet alcohol with a kick. Gives a warm feel on the way down. Not a fan, but I know many who love it.

Pours very dark ruby-brown with a thick cascading tan head that is composed of lots of non-uniform bubbles. The aroma is strong and full of malt, molasses, some alcohol, and a little fruit too (raisins maybe?). The flavor starts bittersweet, with some fruity hops, more fruit flavors (raisins, prunes), molasses, and a little caramel. The mouthfeel is quite thick, but nevertheless the beer finishes a little bit on the dry side with lots of hop bitterness and alcohol as it goes down. A well balanced barley-wine.

Nice dark amber color. Freaking fabulous smell of hops and malts. Taste is both sweet and spicy. A pretty standard barleywine, but still pretty decent.
