Commercial Description:
White Hawk is a traditional IPA .The IPA recipe is based on the original 1880 brew that was sent to India for the British troops. The advent of India Pale Ale was born of a need to supply beer in the 1800's to British troops in India. This hearty, heavily hopped ale was brewed to endure the rigors of the long voyage from Great Britain.

White Hawk Original IPA was launched in California in early 2002 to meet the demand for a unique India Pale Ale. Consumer response for White Hawk IPA exceeded expectations and it is fast gaining a loyal following both in 6 pack and on draft.

Picked this puppy up at Sal’s Beverage Depot because my friend recommended this brewery. He said their porter and red ale are amazing and he figured this would be great too. The problem i had with this IPA was it wasn’t memorable at all. It had a great aroma and an awesome appearance but as for taste it falls short. Pass on this get Goose Island IPA.

Pours an orange/amber color with thin white head. Citrus hops dominate the aroma. Flavor was well balanced between the citrus and grassy hops, and the sweet malts. A bit of bread dough flavor to round out a nice, easy drinking IPA. Didn’t even notice the alcohol was at 7%.

12 oz. botle. Pours a creamy head with little duration, thick lacing, over a golden slightly cloudy body.....nose bready with some yeast, mild floral overtones....tastes initially of mild malt sweetness then hop bitterness with grapefruit overtones, carbonation helps hide the alcohol, mouth feel is fine. This seems to fit an East Coast/English style more closely than the ’’’’over the top’’’’ West Coast IPAs.

pours rust orange with a 2-3 finger beige head that lasts, for quite some time and leaves nice, chunky lacing. Aroma is citrus and bitter hops with some caramel, citrus, grain and bitter hops. Flavor is caramel, fruity, and spicy. Finish is grainy, spicy and fruity; a little citrus and toast.

Very nice aroma of citrus hops. Almost orange pour with creamy tight off white head and lace. Flavor is malty with a very good bitter finish. Full bodied with smooth carbonation. A pretty damn decent drinker. The abv surprised me and is hidden well.

Crushed with Jakebra. Some dishsoap on the nose, and some hop presence I guess. Flavor is bland but the finish gives a nice hop flavor, and is pretty crisp. Not great, not exactly good, but not bad.

Bottle. Pours a light golden color with a small white head. Mildly hoppy aroma of pine, citrus, grass and some floral notes. Flavor is light malts, pine, citrus, grain and a touch of caramel. Medium bodied with a bitter hoppy finish.
