Commercial Description:
White Hawk is a traditional IPA .The IPA recipe is based on the original 1880 brew that was sent to India for the British troops. The advent of India Pale Ale was born of a need to supply beer in the 1800's to British troops in India. This hearty, heavily hopped ale was brewed to endure the rigors of the long voyage from Great Britain.

White Hawk Original IPA was launched in California in early 2002 to meet the demand for a unique India Pale Ale. Consumer response for White Hawk IPA exceeded expectations and it is fast gaining a loyal following both in 6 pack and on draft.

Bottle. Average head with light brown color. Good lacing and color was amber. Aromas of roasted grain, pear, and brown sugar. Very bitter aftertaste and more aroma needed to get this beer to the next level.

Six pack that I got had special IPA written on the bottle. Poured a decent head with a nice hoppy aroma. In the heat of the summer this beer is very tasty. I like this one!

First off, just need to state that IPA’s are not my favorite beers. So this rating may not help you. Super bitter! Hoppy aroma with a nice dark amber tint to the pour. This has got to be the strongest tasting pale ale I’ve tried yet. But, I say try for yourself.

Bottle from Trader Joe’s. Pours hazy copper, with a big white head, not much arom, flavor is pretty boring, malt and bitter hops. below average IPA, i must add that beer from trader joes is old a lot of times, also the don’t refrigerate, so this might be a lot better from somewhere else.

Bottle from Canals. Hazy copper pour with a bitter hop aroma. Citrusy pine notes can be detexcted and it does finish clean but it just average.

Pours clear orange with white head. Floral hop aroma. Mildly sweet with harsh hop bitterness. Medium body with average carbonation. Nothing outstanding.

20 oz draft from The Galway Tribes (Frankfort, IL). Pours a decent enough hazy amber with small off white head. Aromas are largely floral, with a touch of malty sweetness tucked in there. Taste is similar: Very bitter as the hops kick in, but a little harsh. Decent malty caramel feel is washed over by bitterness. Finishes decent, with a bite. This ale is on the right path but suffers from some balance issues. Lots of hops make not geat IPAs.
