Commercial Description:
White Hawk is a traditional IPA .The IPA recipe is based on the original 1880 brew that was sent to India for the British troops. The advent of India Pale Ale was born of a need to supply beer in the 1800's to British troops in India. This hearty, heavily hopped ale was brewed to endure the rigors of the long voyage from Great Britain.

White Hawk Original IPA was launched in California in early 2002 to meet the demand for a unique India Pale Ale. Consumer response for White Hawk IPA exceeded expectations and it is fast gaining a loyal following both in 6 pack and on draft.

Bottle. Light amber body, off-white head, hoppy nose. Moderate bitterness, some crystal malts, a bit on the light side.

A golden amber pour, slightly cloudy, well behaved. The whole thing goes into the pint glass without you having to wait. 1/4" head. Nice floral hop aroma with notes of citrus and corriander. Good mouthfeel, medium-full. Flavor is full and smooth, and then finishes really bitter. A little too bitter perhaps, and not enough balancing malt. But its flavorful and damn good nonetheless.

Orange-tan medium effervescent body with a healthy white cumulus cloud head, half-inch after settling--attractively sits in its snifter... hops-like pine and fresh-cut grass--a bit fruity as well... pleasant and medium-bodied--lacking weight? only slightly effervescent... immediate presence in the throat--evens out over the tongueand spruces up in time...the lingering presence is a bit punchy...this IPA sneaks up on you, with little fanfare and less power than the other members of the ABV-heavy IPA brotherhood... smoothed out a Cavs’ loss, and fits reasonably well with the others in this sampler...

From bottle... poured copper orange with mildly hoppy aroma. Flavor was a good citrusy & pine, but was not very strong. Kind of a mild overall IPA, but good enough to get again.

This one was a decent overall IPA. Copper, orange tinted look with a nice thick head. Hoppy aroma. Hoppy flavor, a bit sour with citrus grapefruit. Pretty good, I’m satisfied. Also the alcohol content is hidden pretty well.

Pours golden-orange, moderate head with lots of lacing. Aroma is not all that strong, piney hops. Taste is mostly piney hops, some cittrus. Bitter finish. Nothing exception, but it’s a pretty decent IPA. One for mid-afternoon. Readily available.

12 ounce bottle- this would be an excellent choice for a beer to put out a campfire with. Bitter and sour as a trailer park mother-in-law. Bitch in a bottle. I hope when I piss this swill out, it doesn’t discolor the john.

Pretty bland IPA really. I have to say that when an IPA has that IPA taste but lacks the bite and bitterness to back it up, it really doesn’t make for a good beer. This one hits your palate with a zing but then immediately looses flavor and can’t carry any umph, almost the way chugging a flavorful IPA would loose its bite after your buds grew used to the flavor from gulping on it. It is very cheap though...but I won’t drink it again. I must carry on the quest. It never ends! Arghh!
