Commercial Description:
White Hawk is a traditional IPA .The IPA recipe is based on the original 1880 brew that was sent to India for the British troops. The advent of India Pale Ale was born of a need to supply beer in the 1800's to British troops in India. This hearty, heavily hopped ale was brewed to endure the rigors of the long voyage from Great Britain.

White Hawk Original IPA was launched in California in early 2002 to meet the demand for a unique India Pale Ale. Consumer response for White Hawk IPA exceeded expectations and it is fast gaining a loyal following both in 6 pack and on draft.

Bottle. If you like IPAs you might like this one. Boy, it sure is bitter. But, on a hot day of mowing grass and sweating like a pig. It sure goes down good.

Ok well if you want a beer with a bite this one will Gnaw your tongue off. after half the bottle it became tolerable. if this was the first ipa id ever tried i would be scared to try others. thank god it wasnt my first and i knew what to expect, but dang. HOPPY! Tart and abrasive. but not quite a drain pour. i couldnt justify pouring out a 7% abv beer just cuz it isnt the best. it deff wasnt the worst ive had.

my thing again not being the biggest hhead in town and the aggressive British style of ipa’s, pretty much head on with hops and then more hops, not exatly my bag but I know lots of people who snap this stuff up

A pretty good IPA. No outstanding qualities. A easy afternoon drinking beer.

This beer has a gold/caramel color to it. The beer has a thin layer of head after pouring. Nothing too impressive. The beer is too transparent if you ask me. This beer has a decent hop aroma to it. Decent malt aroma as well. The hops aren’t very complex as far as aroma is concerned. The beer has a decent palate. A nice smooth palate. The bittering hops are quite strong, but the flavoring and aroma hops aren’t that great. The beer has a somewhat of a malt taste to it, but nothing great. All in all a simple and bitter beer. I wouldn’t say that this is an awesome IPA.

Bottle. Orange/amber color, creamy offwhite head. Fruity aroma from pine apples and green apples, some grassy hop notes. Hoppy flavor, grass and fruits. Fruity finish with a decent bitterness.

Poured from bottle a slightly hazy golden blond with a nice off-white creamy head. Aromas of bittering hops, straw, slight floralness. The taste comes off as mainly bitter with a little creamy smooth malt in the body but nothing sweet. There is a bit of citrus and straw and a small punch of floral hops at the very end. Overall, an OK beer, but not a stand out one.
