Commercial Description:
White Hawk is a traditional IPA .The IPA recipe is based on the original 1880 brew that was sent to India for the British troops. The advent of India Pale Ale was born of a need to supply beer in the 1800's to British troops in India. This hearty, heavily hopped ale was brewed to endure the rigors of the long voyage from Great Britain.

White Hawk Original IPA was launched in California in early 2002 to meet the demand for a unique India Pale Ale. Consumer response for White Hawk IPA exceeded expectations and it is fast gaining a loyal following both in 6 pack and on draft.

Decent. Pours golden color with minimal head. Smelt to me of hops and firewood. Tastes good though with a nice blast of hops.

12 oz bottle, thanks again left over from a party. Poures a clear golden amber. Light frothy head and aroma of citrus. Decent IPA, the alcohol is not present to any point to strong. Good, not great.

From sample pack from Binny’s in Wheeling, IL. Golden color, and finally a decent head. Aroma is floral hops, but is pretty light. Taste is citrusy and grassy hops, with a little strange aftertaste. Mouthfeel is good, medium body. Average for the style, but that’s not a knock. It tastes like your run of the mill IPA.

Bottle from Grapevine. Heavily carbonated with turbulent bubbling after pour. Orange-amber. Decent but pretty generic hop aroma. Metallic aftertaste. Thin.

Aroma is a light floral hop scent. Color is golden with a lot of sediment floating around. Carbonation is light with a very thin but tight head. Taste is hoppy, soapy and bitter. Starting with a medium body it goes down crisp. Finish comes on hoppy, slightly citric but more floral, then a mild malt flavor and a bold bitterness. In the after taste a soapy flavor comes in as the bitterness peaks then fads out. Its an odd balance, not a bad beer but the bitterness and soapy taste overwhelm the rest.

Pours light copper amber hue. Good sized foamy white head. Hoppy aroma and flavor. Overall decent but not spectacular IPA.

Pours a clear amber with an off white head that rises off some firm carbonation and falls. Nose is kind of leafy and roasted but has a real odd almost syrup like edge to it. Jeez. Hello 7% alcohol. Way too high. You can totally taste it. Hops character is definitely overshadowed by it. Feel is okay. This would be easier to drink if there was less alcohol in the way of any finer character points. The way it stands though, it is far from being balanced.
