| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 18, 2007 White head, which I assume led to the beer’s name, with an amber appearance. Flavor is strongly hopped, which is to be expected from an IPA, but as far as comparisons to typical Pale Ales go, this one’s a bit weaker. Recommended. TheBeerGod909 (43), Aurora, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 4, 2007 Large, thick white head. Color is a deep amber and the flavor is full-bodied with a strong hoppiness. Also, hawk on the label is the most pissed off bird I’ve ever seen. Taste wise is pretty good for an IPA. Its not overly strong. it has great color. Picked up the varity pack at Costco. smackie (45), St. Augustine, Florida, USA

overpowering. This batch was brewed in Saratoga Springs,NY. Will be considered a special treat at 8.99. What has happened to the price of beers these days? sliffy (2012), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 24, 2007 Bottle: Pours a clear copper color with an off white head. Aroma, sweet caramel, citrus and piny hops. Flavor, caramel and pale malts up front, citrus, grapefruit especially, some nice bitterness, with a citrusy aftertaste. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 24, 2007 Pours a slightly hazy deep amber with a frothy beige head that laces well. The nose definitely shows its "traditional IPA" recipe. It possesses none of the big west coast IPA hop characteristics that many associate with the style. Instead I detect a pale malt front backed by earthy European hops (fuggles?); it’s pleasant enough but relatively uninspired when compared to many American versions of the style. Medium-bodied and somewhat "gritty" on the tongue, the mouthfeel concludes with a hoppy, bitter finish that strips the tongue of moisture but fails to do so with the piny, citric or resinous flavors that I’ve grown to love in my IPAs. The flavor is of pale and caramel malts and a solid earthy, bitter finish. It compels me to take another drink, but only because its better in my mouth than in the lingering bitter aftertaste. Lots of bitterness come through in the finish, but not a lot of pleasant hop flavor. This just isn’t my kind of IPA. It’s a decent beer, but it’s certainly not one that I’m likely to buy again. xarcadia (9), USA does not count | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Oct 22, 2007 Skunky aroma and flavor. B: Potential citrus blossom in the aroma, tinny and somewhat sweet. badlizard (2358), Berkeley, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 20, 2007 350 ml bottle from TJs. Clear golden amber with a fizzy white head. Faint slightly sweet citrus aroma. Taste commensurate with aroma with only a light bitterness in the finish. I was wanting more from this beer.
