| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Sep 11, 2007 Updated: Dec 31, 2007Looks like cloudy iced tea but a little more orange than brown. Perhaps looks more like some cloudy ciders. No head, just a girdle around the inside edge of the glass. Aroma is mildly floral hops and rather clean. Flavor is heavily hopped bitter and intangible. Rather offensive, exactly what I expected for this crude style. Offensive and ill mannered. This is a fine example of the style. Offensive and difficult to palate. Very bitter at times. Barely any carbonation and any carbonation would be appreciated. A bitter medicinal finish that makes me wish I had a glass of old heathen to warsh this down with as a chaser. Will not buy again. lipscomb216 (78), USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Sep 9, 2007 Has that same nasty twangy metallic copper aftertaste that the Red Tail does. Blech. I love beer and will even drink a Bud if the moon hits it right, but this crap had me struggling through bottle #3. I’ll stick to my homebrew. sneezey (110), Hackettstown, New Jersey, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 8, 2007 Not as typically citrus hopped as you’d expect, perhaps a bit heavy in the malt for the style. Nice citrus start but odd matly flavors take over. Not quite balanced. Not bad, but definitely too much carbonation. KrispyKirk (15), USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 7, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Two big mistakes are easy to make with this rather good IPA: 1. Drinking it too cold. Flavor fully blooms only after a slight warm up period. 2. Pouring it too gently. The overcarbonation of this beer necessitates a good healthy "bounce" on the bottom of your glass. Otherwise you might think you opened a ginger ale by mistake. Follow these two simple rules and you got a darn fine beverage to enjoy. JohnnyJ (1312), Carlsbad, California, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 4, 2007 Pours a cloudy orange with small white head. Aroma of citrus fruit, malt ,and hops. Same thing for the flavor, quite uninteresting for an IPA. A tad bit of alcohol comes through, and a bit heavy (not refreshing).
