Smells of soured fruit and hops. The hops dominates the flavor almost completely masking the sour grapefruit taste. Finishes dry and bitter. Very little complexity or balance, this beer leaves alot to be desired. kimcgolf (835), Dacula, Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 3, 2007 Poured from the bottle to a reddish-orange with thin off-white head that lingered well and left good lacing on the glass. Nose is a combination of grassy hops and sweet malt, and the mouthfeel of this fairly carbonated beer is somewhat tingly. Flavor is initially grassy hop, but the sweet malt blends in well to leave a nice, long, rounded finish.
Not a bad beer at all.

Aroma has oily, herbal hops, some sour, slightly sweet malt smells. Flavor is sharply bitter, with a slight alcohol bite. A little grassiness, as well. Sweetness and lingering bitterness in the finish. Atypical west coast IPA, but probably closer to the traditional style. I like. GlenVargas (120), El Paso, Texas, USA

It’s got a sweet, citrusy smell followed by a slight candied taste and a nice hoppy finish, no nasty film. A little bit of yeast can be seen hanging around before the last sip. I’d say White Hawk is pretty damn fine IPA. kwoeltje (1333), Manchester, Missouri, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 5, 2007 Aroma of floral hop, and arguably pale malt. Hazy golden amber color with a white head that stayed for awhile. Laces a bit as time passes. Medium bodied, with muted carbonation. Starts with very decent hop level, I think its floral and grapefruit. The malt is there, but the hop seems dominant. Definitely grapefruit as time goes on. The finish is dry, and nicely bitter.
