| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | May 26, 2007 Fine IPA with a strong lingering bitterness. Rich amber color. Medium body. Hops provide some fruit taste---but bitterness drives this brew. Beerlando (2344), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 26, 2007 First taste 5/25/07. Followed up an Oak Aged Yeti Stout with this one, so it had a hard act to follow. Still, fairly impressive. Strong hops. Definitely some citrus and pine in there. Decent amount of malt smoothed it out a bit and took some of the edge off the hops. Didn’t knock my socks off, but a decent IPA nonetheless. I would order one again. redlight (1490), Winter Park, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 24, 2007 Malty, with grapefruit hops, hints of pine resin. Pours a dark pale with a white head. Thats a hoppy IPA. BIg hop flavor right out the bat, piney citrus, grapefruit, with a good malt backbone in there, but you could miss it! Hopheads must go crazy for this one. cking (1041), North Canton, Ohio, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 21, 2007 Rated 7/24/06: Mendocino has yet to really impress me and this latest find comes up a tad short. Dark copper color with a medium amber tint, huge foamy head and perhaps the coolest pattern of lacing I have ever seen. This beer starts off looking impressive. Aroma is strong with a funky hop scent not appalling but not inviting either. Mouthfeel is adequate but not full enough and definately not smooth enough to earn a higher mark. The flavor is somewhat odd. It’s not out of line for the style but the hops have a very strong awkward bite, it’s almost offensive. I know there is some malt there but the hops really get in the way. Not undrinkable but not desireable for this style. BREWMUSKCLES (1083), New Jersey, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 15, 2007 authentic as described and that means something to me! i think so because it does have that english ipa accent, combined with their true love of a malt character. gratefully the quality california whatever it is could not keep this ipa too far down. you know...although this is not a monster of an ipa (by any means) it is more than sufficently complex and distinguished to the point that it should receive better noteriety.i applaud the floral notes. mhelgason (495), Charlotte, North Carolina, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 14, 2007 Bottle. Small, white, creamy (fully dissapating). Clear, sparkling, light amber colored. Good lacing. Caramel, floral hops, spicyness are all noticed in the aroma. Flavor is light bitter sweet with some metalic hints. Could use a bit more balancing from malts. polomagnifico (535), Saginaw, Michigan, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 13, 2007 12oz bottle. Aroma was weak but hoppy with some white wine and apple notes. Average sized off-white rocky/creamy head that mostly diminished. Amber body. Flavor starts lightly sweet and bitter and ends moderately bitter with a short finish. Palate is light/medium and watery with flat carbonation. Good riesling flavors and hopps but it’s just an average IPA. Nothing worth going out of your way to get but I’d never turn one down. frink (467), coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 10, 2007 Copper coloured pour with a thin soapy white head. Sharp grapefruit and pine aromas. Quite a bitter taste but not much in the way of aromatics, sweet caramel malt, and some spicy yeast in the retro-nasal. Kind of a mix between British and west coast IPA’s.
