Pours a clear copper orange with a small white head that diminishes quickly to nothing. The aroma is a piney hops with grapefruit and caramel. Thin mouthfeel and a bit watery on the palate. A sweet hop taste with grapefruit and citrus with a nice dry finish. A good IPA from Mendocino. jimmyjack (7), USA does not count | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 9, 2009 Amber copper, thin but sl cream head that lasts, light finish hop , bitter sweet start with deep bitter finish. mod. full body, caramel - grapefruit citrus, some peppery undertone. enjoyable, but needs more floral distribution of finish hops. curly (637), Nashville, Tennessee, USA

Pours a clear medium copper color, tiny quarter inch head that clears almost instantly. Nose shows semi-sweet, vegetal malt notes, and some light floral and citric notes. Not at all impressive nose. Flavor follows the nose, unfortunately. Sticky, unpleasant sweetness with some distinct acrid and sour notes; little if any hop character other than some very mild bitterness. Palate is sticky, unpleasant finish, and low on the carbonation. Not a good example of an IPA, either traditional or modern. fiver29 (726), Cleveland, Ohio, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 27, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours a clear orange body with a finger-width, foamy, white head that dissipates quickly and leaves a good amount of lacing. Aroma is sweet with lots of caramels, but has a good amount of fresh, piney orange. Flavor is quite nice. Lots of sweet caramels, but well balanced with a surprising amount of piney bitterness. Lots of sweet lemon and grapefruit citrus with an earthy bitterness. Finishes dry with lots of flavor. Big time citrus, caramel, and a light toasty toffee that linger for quite awhile. Palate is medium to full and very smooth. Overall, this is a good IPA. Highly under-rated. Lots of sweet caramels, fresh pine, and juicy citrus make this quite enjoyable. Excellent balance and easy drinking. slitcher (98), Freeport, Illinois, USA

Tatse of bitter fruit with some sweetness. Not one of my favorite IPA’s, but I’ve had worse. rflambert (5), Virginia, USA does not count | 0.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 1/5 | 1/10 | 1/5 | 1/20 | Jun 13, 2009 best part of the beer is when it first hits your tongue but after that i could take it or leave it
