Commercial Description:
White Hawk is a traditional IPA .The IPA recipe is based on the original 1880 brew that was sent to India for the British troops. The advent of India Pale Ale was born of a need to supply beer in the 1800's to British troops in India. This hearty, heavily hopped ale was brewed to endure the rigors of the long voyage from Great Britain.

White Hawk Original IPA was launched in California in early 2002 to meet the demand for a unique India Pale Ale. Consumer response for White Hawk IPA exceeded expectations and it is fast gaining a loyal following both in 6 pack and on draft.

12oz trader joes. This is a decent IPA and there is nothing special or unique about it. The taste is pretty much right in line with all the other IPA’s of the world, with more hops than the average beer. If you are rating this beer against all other IPA’s it would be right in the middle of the pack. Not great, not aweful, just decent.

Bottle. Sweet and malty, only slightly yeasty nose, grapefruit and citric tang with some nice breadiness. Hops bring an interesting floral note - almost like white grape. Amber-orange with a stocky, lacing, foamy beige head. Very hoppy, slightly rough and gritty taste. Not quite brutally bitter, rather a strong bitterness that can be enjoyed. Full, filling body. Very dry, bready and resinous aftertaste. Short of being thrilled, I am very happy with this!

Good beer but not a lot of complexity for an IPA. I personally thought it was just very hoppy, with little to no fruit, floral, citrus or pine aroma or taste. Taste was very bitter, but for how bitter and sharp this beer was it was smooth throughout.

This IPA is like an old Ford Mustang - classic yet simple. The beer doesn’t over dazzle with mega-hops. It has all the right stuff in the right places. And I will drink to that......cheers!

Hazy orange in color. faint aroma. Tons of lacing. Medium mouth feel. I always prefer the softer carbonation of bottle conditioning so this brew will always get a few extra points. Very nice offering of an IPA. I’m loving this BC more and more with each brew I try.

Pours a medium copper with a small white head. Aroma is of mild pine, hops, and citrus. Flavor is pretty mild. Slight bitter hops and light malts. A pretty decent beer.

Pours a pale honey color w/ a medium sized semi creamy froth. The aroma is slightly earthy w/ some aged citrus rind. Medium nectar w/ mellow residual effers creating an almost creamy texture. A malty style w/ balanced hops. This is a good brew indeed. The hops are tame yet defined. Moderate caramel and leather. Not too citrusy. The finish is well bittered and perfect. I could drink this all day. Overall: this is an IPA that is balanced, and it’s a true 7%. A solid brew!

Bottle. Poured a copper color with a big of-white head that left nice rings of lacing in the glass as it slowly settled. Nose is more citrus than hops. Mouthfeel is rich and clean. Flavor is very complex for an IPA. but that is not bad. The complexity is part of the allure of this beer. Great finish, and good to the last drop. As an IPA this many seem a little tame, but don’t rate it as an IPA, but just a good drinkable brew and it comes out pretty well.
